How to Join an Event
Joining an event in Altar Live's online platform just takes one click! There are no downloads or sign-ups required to join an event. Anyone can join a public event by clicking on the event URL. Anyone with the link can watch and follow along with the event.
There are a few ways you can join an event in Altar Live:
As soon as you publish an event, anyone with the link will be able to click on it and join it. You can set permissions to make an event public, private, or for selected members only.
To use Altar Live's interactive features, participants must sign up or log in for security authentication. This allows them to chat with other participants and join watch parties or tables. Learn more about how to sign up during an event.
If someone clicks on your event link after the live stream has already started, they will join the live stream where everyone else is watching. Whether you have connected an uploaded video, live or simulated live video, everyone will watch the video at the same pace. If someone joins while the event is in Lobby mode, they will automatically join the Lobby with everyone else. Learn more about event timing here.
When the Host ends an event, a countdown timer appears notifying participants they have one minute left on the event. When the countdown timer ends, all participants will see an "event ended" screen, and anyone who clicks on the link after it ends will see an "event ended" screen and the link to the event that was live streamed.
Step 1: Click on the event URL link.
Step 2: Once you click on the event link, your default browser will open and you will be in the event!

Step 1: Open your email inbox.
Step 2: Click on the Join button from the invitation email.
Step 3: Once you click on the Join button, you will see the event screen.
Step 1: Log in to Altar Live in your browser.
Step 2: Go to the Events & Meetings screen and find an event

When you click a link on Altar Live on your mobile phone, your browser will open first. You will be able to watch and follow along the live stream without ever having to download the Altar Live apps.
To use video conference and chat, simply use the button "Open the Altar App" to download the Altar App the Google Play Store. Once downloaded, you will join the same event and be able to chat and take a seat.
Step 1: Click on the event URL link.
Step 2: Once you click on the event link, your default browser will open and you will be in the event!

Step 3: To use video conference and chat, simply use the button "Open the Altar App" to download the Altar Live app from the Google Play store. Once downloaded, you will join the same event as an anonymous person.
Step 4: Once in the app, log in or sign up to be able to chat and take a seat.
If you already have the app on your phone, you can open the app to find the event you want to join from your community's Events & Meetings page.

Step 2: If you haven't logged in yet, you will need to do so with your Google or Facebook account, or email and password. Use the magic link for faster log in! If you don't have an account yet, the app will walk you through the account creation process and then let you search for your community or bring you to the community you already belong to.
Step 3: Once logged in, you can click on any event to join it.
