Product Update: Chat
Altar Live now allows your members to connect, check in, and catch up with one another before, during and after the live event though chat.
So you have broadcasted your service online to Facebook or YouTube, and now you're waiting to hear from people in the comments. Or maybe you're hosting your service on Zoom, and you're keeping an eye on the chat channel to see if anyone says something. Maybe you get a chorus of "Good Morning!" or "Amen!", or maybe it's really silent.
People at home want to talk with other people, and your staff wants to be able to engage with those watching, but the reality is - the public comment channel does't really cut it.
Introducing chat - Altar Live now allows your members to connect, check in, and catch up with one another before, during and after the live event though chat. During your live event, members can start individual or small group chat discussions while they watch the service. Maybe your Men's Bible Study creates a small group chat with one another, or the Lee family creates a chat with their grandparents watching from another city. Logged in members can message any other member registered in the community. If you message a member who isn't a currently online watching the event, they receive a chat notification and will be able to catch up on the discussion when the log into Altar Live.
And the best part is that conversations don’t disappear when the event ends! When the Men's Bible Study group uses the Altar Live meeting mode later in the week for their small group time, their group chat will pick up in their meeting right where they left off!
For security, first-time visitors who have not been given an account in your community can't direct message other members. To ensure their experience online is welcoming, we are releasing an online greeter role - keep your eye out for another product update!
