OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is an open-source software for video recording and live streaming. If you are using OBS to create your live stream feed, you can connect it to Altar Live through RTMP credentials.

Please follow these steps to connect OBS to Altar Live platform.

Connecting OBS to Altar Live

Step 1: Open OBS

Step 2: Open the Settings panel in the bottom right corner.

Step 3: Go to the Stream tab using the left-hand menu and select Custom from the Service drop-down menu.

Step 4:  In the Stream Key field, type or paste your RTMP Credentials. That links OBS with Altar Live so the software streams straight to any Altar event that has RTMP selected as the stream source.

Step 5: Exit the settings panel by clicking Apply > OK.

Step 6: Сlick the Start Streaming button located in the bottom right corner.

Step 7:  Once the OBS establishes the connection to your Altar Live RTMP credentials, the broadcast will be visible in Altar Live and then you can Go Live.

Note:
Now, whenever you press "start streaming", you will be streaming to Altar Live's servers - even if you don't have an event set up. This will count against your total RTMP time. If you use OBS with multiple services, or you want to avoid accidentally going live, we recommend making a different profile for Altar. You can find out more about using profiles with OBS here!
