You should consider using the direct Vimeo integration if:

You live stream more than 5 hours/month. Vimeo is one of the most affordable ways to use RTMP streaming to connect to Altar Live. Vimeo offers unlimited RTMP streaming. Connect your live stream encoder (OBS, Ecamm, Wirecast, etc) to Vimeo and then connect Vimeo to Altar Live. When you go live from your encoder, it will automatically appear in Altar Live without having to even open Vimeo.
You want to automatically create a video archive. After your video ends, it will automatically be archived on your Vimeo channel for people to watch later.
You already use Vimeo. Already using Vimeo? This is a super easy way to seamlessly connect the two platforms and make your workflow even easier.

Using Vimeo Browser Livestream Studio

Step 1. Log in to your Altar Live account.

Step 2. Create an Event in Altar.

Step 3. Select Live Video under the Stream step and choose Vimeo Livestream as your provider .

NOTE: To use the direct Vimeo integration, you need to have a Vimeo Premium account. Upgrade to Premium here

Step 4. Click on the Connect Your Vimeo Account Button.

NOTE: You must be logged in to your Vimeo account on the same browser.

Step 6. Allow authorization to your Vimeo account.

Step 7: Once your account is connected, you will be able to test the connection and you will see your Vimeo Personal Access Token.

Step 8. Once you Publish your Event in Altar Live, your Event will automatically appear in your Vimeo live events list.

Choose your live-stream source

There are three ways to use Vimeo to live stream:

Stream with RTMP. Connect your live stream encoder (OBS, Ecamm, Wirecast, etc) to Vimeo and then connect Vimeo to Altar Live. When you go live from your encoder, it will automatically appear in Altar Live without having to even open Vimeo. You will be able to harness Vimeo's unlimited RTMP streaming.
Stream with Vimeo browser studio. Go live from Vimeo's browser studio. Use lower thirds, switch between pre-recorded and live, and even invite a guest.
Stream with Vimeo downloadable desktop studio. Go live with Studio, Vimeo's downloadable desktop software. Studio is Vimeo's version of platforms like OBS.

Step 9. In your Vimeo account, select the event that you created from Altar Live. Click Manage Production. Select whether you want to Stream with Vimeo or Stream with RTMP.

Step 10: If you selected Stream via RTMP, enter the Vimeo credentials into your encoding software (i.e. Wirecast, OBS, Ecamm, etc). When you go live from your encoder, it will automatically appear in Altar Live without having to even open Vimeo. You will be able to harness Vimeo's unlimited RTMP streaming.
