Whether you are launching an entirely online faith community or creating a central location for online events, your community landing page is the front door to your Altar Live community. This fully customizable event landing page allows people to easily find and join your events, as well as see upcoming or past events. Upcoming and past events are automatically populated. You can link to the Community Landing page from your own website, or you can use it as a standalone web page. Seamlessly personalize it with your own logo, color, and even custom URL!

Who can access Community Landing pages?

  • Only users with admin access can update the Community Landing page
  • Community Landing pages are public web pages. People don't have to have an Altar Live account to be able to see your upcoming events. When someone joins an event, the system with detect whether they are already logged in or anonymous.
  • Public Events: If a person clicks into an event that is set to public (anyone) permissions, they will join the event as an anonymous user if they have not logged in or never created an account. The regular event sign-up flow.
  • Invite-Only Events: If a person clicks into an event that is set to Members only or Selected Members only, the system will detect whether the person is logged in and if they have permission to join. If the person is not logged in, the system will ask them to log in first and then detect if they have permission to join.

What can you customize on Community Landing pages?

  • Logo
  • Background & accent colors
  • Text color
  • Subdomain URL (i.e. faithchurch.altarlive.com)
  • Navigation backlinks (buttons that can be connected to an external landing page)

How to edit your Community Landing page

Step 1: Log in to your Altar Live community as a member with Admin permission

Step 2: Navigate to the Community Setting tab

Step 3: Click on the Appearance option.

Customize the Appearance

Step 4: Click Replace Image to select an image file from your computer to replace the Altar Live logo with your own logo.

Step 5: Select your Page Color Theme.

Step 6: Select your Background Color and Accent with the color picker, or enter the Color Hex (i.e. #fcba03).

Step 7: Select the Text Color.

Step 8: Select the case of the Navigation Link buttons.

Step 9: Click Save Changes to update your appearance.

Customize the Subdomain URL

The subdomain URL allows you to add your own community's name into the URL so it's easier for people to find your community or remember the URL.

Step 1: On the Appearance settings section you'll find your Community Page Address.

Step 2: Update your custom URL text.

Step 3: Click Save Changes to update your custom URL.

Step 4: Click Copy Community Link to copy your new URL to your clipboard to a new tab to be able to see what your Community Landing page looks like.

Customize the Navigation Links

Navigation Links allow people to easily navigate from your Community Landing page back to your main website or to any other external link. You can add up to 5 Navigation Links to the header of the Community Landing page.

Step 1: On the Appearance settings section you'll find your Navigation Links.

Step 2: Enter the name of the Navigation Button as you'd like it to appear on your Community Landing page (i.e. Next Steps, Giving, About Us, etc.)

Step 3: Copy and paste the URL of where the Navigation Button should direct people to.

Step 4: Click Add Navigation Link to add more buttons.

Step 5: You can select the case of the Navigation Link buttons in the section above.

Step 6: Click Save Changes to update your Navigation links.

Adding a Custom Favicon

Adding your own favicon adds another layer of customization and brand consistency for your community.

Step 1: On the Appearance settings section, scroll to the Favicon section.

Step 2: Click Choose Image.

Step 3: Upload an image from your computer.

Step 4: Click Save Changes to update your Navigation links.
