Connecting Wirecast to Altar Live

Wirecast is a live video streaming production tool. It allows users to create live or on-demand broadcasts for the web.

With Wirecast you can connect two kinds of live streams to Altar Live:

1. Standard stream (one-time stream)
2. Scheduled stream (here is the guide on how to schedule it)

Notes: 

• To use Wirecast, you need to purchase one of the Wirecast products on the website. There is a Free Trial on their website. The trial is fully functional but has certain limits

Please follow these steps to connect Wirecast to Altar Live platform:

Connecting Wirecast to Altar Live

Step 1: Download or open the Wirecast application.

Step 2: Click the Output drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Click on Output Settings to open your options.

Step 3: Choose the RTMP Server destination from the drop-down menu.

‍

Step 4: Copy and paste your Altar Live RTMP URL into the Address box and the Stream Key into the Stream box.

Step 5: Change your Encoding bitrate option from the drop-down menu if you want to. This changes the quality of the stream coming into Altar Live. The recommended option is Default: 720p30.

Step 6: Click Ok to save changes for your output destination.

Step 7: Click the Stream button at the top of the screen to start Streaming. Once the connection with Wirecast is complete the stream will be live automatically.
